Week 7 NFL Picks: Jets Win, Move Above .500

For the last two weeks, SB Nation New York's Jared Smith has been treading water posting 2-2-1 records. This week will be different. Check out his Week 7 NFL picks.

For the past two weeks, I have posted 2-2-1 records. While, those records keep me treading water I am looking for a week to put me over the top and into some serious fake money! In Week 7, there is only one local team, the New York Jets, in action -- the Giants are on the bye -- so, I was able to find another game I like that might help me put some distance on the .500 mark.

Here are your Week 7 NFL picks:

Chargers (-2 1/2) at Jets (1 p.m. on CBS): Last week, New York (3-3) snapped a three-game losing streak by beating the Dolphins on Monday Night Football. It was a much needed win considering the Jets upcoming schedule features: vs. San Diego, bye week, at Buffalo and vs. New England. Because of the upcoming schedule, New York needs a win and will get it Sunday. Prediction: Jets 20, Chargers 10.

Lions (-3 1/2) vs. Falcons (1 p.m. on FOX): The loss to the 49ers last week was tough one for Detroit fans. However, it showed that the Lions (5-1) are for real -- and so is San Fran -- and it's going to be a tough game for struggling Atlanta. Prediction: Lions 31, Falcons 24.

Panthers (-3) vs. Redskins (1 p.m. on FOX): I'll admit it, I am stuck on the Cam Newton train and will not get off until he gets me a victory. With Washington (3-2) switching to John Beck this is the perfect time for the Panthers (1-5) to earn its second victory and snap my streak. Prediction: Panthers 20, Redskins 16.

Raiders (-6) vs. Chiefs (4:05 p.m. on CBS): Who really believes that Carson Palmer, who has been sitting in a bean bag chair eating Cheetos for the last year, is going to lead Oakland (4-2) to a victory Sunday? Not me. Kansas City (2-3) gets the win. Prediction: Chiefs 17, Raiders 16.

Cowboys (-13) vs. Rams (4:15 p.m. on FOX): 13 points is a lot to cover, but I think the Cowboys' offense is finally getting the hang of it. Especially, since Miles Austin is back. Prediction: Cowboys 35, Rams 21

Last Week: 2-2-1. Overall: 12-10-2.
