The Jets face another must-win home game this week if they hope to keep their Super Bowl ambitions alive. But their not facing the winless Dolphins this week, instead they'll meet the AFC West-leading Chargers. According to Odds Shark, the Jets started this game as slim, 1.5 point favorites. But most lines have shifted to give favor the Chargers by less than three points. This is pretty darn close to a pick 'em game.
One area of strength vs. strength is when the Chargers have the ball and attack through the air. Led by quarterback Phillip Rivers, San Diego has the sixth-best passing offense in the league, averaging 293 yards per game. The Jets counter with the 5th-ranked pass defense in the NFL, led by Darrelle Revis -- the best cornerback in the NFL and last week's AFC Defensive Player of the Week. Whoever wins that battle could be looking at a win.
The over under for the game is 45.5. The Jets are averaging 24.2 points per game, while the Chargers average 24. The over could be a decent bet, if you don't trust the Jets and Revis to slow San Diego's attack.
