Good morning, New York sports fans! Here is your first look at the local sports scene on this Sunday morning.

- Next stop, New England for the New York Jets. The Jets advanced to the AFC Divisional round with a hard-fought, last-second 17-16 victory over Indianapolis Sunday. I have to give props to Antonio Cromartie for a huge kickoff return that put the Jets at midfield to start the game-winning drive, and to Braylon Edwards for a terrific catch that set up Nick Folk's game-winning 32-yard field goal. ↵
- How about the Seattle Seahawks! You have to give Seattle some props after the Seahawks stunned the defending champion New Orleans Saints Sunday, 41-36. At 7-9 I still believe they really don't belong in the playoffs, but it sure was fun to watch them expose -- and ultimately defeat -- the Saints. The 67-yard touchdown run by Marshawn Lynch might be the greatest run I have ever seen. ↵
- I guess getting jerked in and out of the lineup, splitting time with Chas Dodd and losing other snaps to the Wildcat formation was not something quarterback Tom Savage wanted to continue doing at Rutgers. So, after two seasons with the Scarlet Knights, he is going to leave the school. I am not a die-hard Rutgers football follower, but I can't blame the kid. You can't succeed getting shuffled around the way Savage was this past season. ↵
- It wasn't as easy as some thought it might be, but Syracuse defeated Seton Hall, 61-56, Saturday to remain unbeaten. ↵
