NFL Predictions, Wild-Card Weekend

Well, I guess you could call me the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL predictions business. A 2-3 record last week left me 23-27 for the season, under .500. Yet, here I am in the playoffs. Let's see how well I do.

New Orleans (-10.5) at Seattle: You have to go with the defending champion Saints here. We all know the 7-9 Seahawks are not a playoff caliber team, much less one deserving of a home game. I don't care about the Qwest Field crowd, I think the Saints take them out of the game early and take care of business here. Pick: Saints

↵

New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts (-3): I have to go with the home-standing Colts here. They finished the season with four straight victories and have rediscovered their running game. Besides, this is Peyton Manning against a sore-winged Mark Sanchez. Pick: Colts

↵

Baltimore (-3) at Kansas City: The 12-4 Ravens are riding a four-game winning streak heading into Sunday's game at Arrowhead Stadium. Baltimore is playoff-tested and, while I don't think they are a Super Bowl team I do think they are good enough to win in Kansas City. Pick: Ravens

↵

Green Bay at Philadelphia (-2.5): I should be upset with both of these teams, since they are the ones who combined to knock my New York Giants out of the playoffs. In fact, I am upset with both of them. But, the NFC East-rival Eagles bug me more. I like the Packers here, though I will admit objectivity is out the window on this choice. Pick: Packers
