Morning Coffee! More Trouble For Brett Favre, Jets

Good morning, New York sports fans! Here is your first look at the local sports scene for the first Tuesday of 2011.

  • Brett Favre says he is retired, but he isn't going to go quietly back to the farm. Two former Jets employees are suing Favre and the team for alleged sexual harassment. Ugh! We would like to remember Brett for the player he was on the field, not the player he seemingly wanted to be off it.

  • Jets coach Rex Ryan just can't help himself. He is spouting more brash talk about his team and how it will do in the playoffs. Hey, Rex, low-key might not be a bad idea considering the path that is in front of your team.

  • So, the Jets and Giants will play in a regular-season game in 2011. Part of me looks forward to that, but I also know that there will almost certainly be some ugliness between Jets and Giants fans.

  • The New York Knicks will be without forward Danilo Gallinari for about three weeks. Replacing Gallinari's offense won't be easy.

  • St. John's upset Georgetown Monday night. In the powerful Big East the Red Storm are not one of the major players, but they showed Monday that they can be a factor.
