The New York Jets came in No. 4 in the SB Nation Week 12 NFL Power Rankings, which were released today.
The Jets are 8-2 and have won three straight games. Each of those victories, however, has been a last-minute or overtime victory against a team thought to be inferior to the Jets. That includes Sunday’s 30-27 last-second victory over the Houston Texans. It seems voters penalized the Jets for the tight games.
Here is what SB Nation had to say about the Jets.
Five of the Jets eight wins have been by one score or less, including the last three by a total of nine points. You’d like to see better victories but a win is a win, especially if they keep doing it.
The top three teams in the rankings are New England (8-2), Green Bay (7-3) and Atlanta (7-3). The Jets are followed by Philadelphia (7-3), Baltimore (7-3) and Pittsburgh (7-3).
The Jets take on another team that should be no match for them on Thanksgiving night when they host the 2-8 Cincinnati Bengals at New Meadowlands Stadium.
