The New York Giants are tumbling in the NFC playoff picture, and the SB Nation Week 12 NFL Power Rankings.
Following consecutive losses to Dallas and Philadelphia the 6-4 Giants have fallen into second place in the NFC East behind 7-3 Philadelphia. They have also dropped all the way to No. 12 in the Power Rankings.
Two weeks ago, at 6-2 and with a five-game winning streak, the Giants had moved all the way up to No. 7. Now, they have lost ground in the fight for a playoff spot and respect with the voters.
Here is what SB Nation had to say about the Giants.
After winning five in a row, the Giants have now lost two in a row and first place in the NFC East. Upcoming games against the Jaguars and Redskins could get them back into contention though.
The Giants host the Jaguars and Redskins the next two weeks, and could desperately use victories both weeks to squelch rising talk of a second-half collapse for the second straight season.
The Giants task won’t be helped with injuries to starting receivers Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith, as well as backup Ramses Barden. The Giants are also competing with a makeshift offensive line.
