Quick Jets Injury Update

Jerricho Cotchery injured his groin on his acrobatic 3rd down reception in overtime, from the initial look of things he could be out a few weeks. It will be interesting to see if the Jets add another receiver to the active roster, because they are only carrying three right now. Brad Smith will take the bulk of Cotchery’s reps in his absence, reserve tight end Jeff Cumberland could also finally become active.

Mark Sanchez’s injury was to his right calf but as we saw throughout the 4th quarter and overtime, it is nothing he can’t play through. Thank god, because we don’t need to be seeing any Mark Brunell.

Matt Slauson left the game in the third quarter with a knee injury that has been bothering him throughout the week. However, Rob Turner did a good job filling in for him and could hold the fort down if necessary without a major drop off.

Eric Smith and Dwight Lowery were both also banged up. Lowery has a head injury so he will have to go through testing this week. Smith has a wrist injury.
