  • The New York Jets offense was nowhere to be found in a 9-0 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Neither, for that matter, was punter Steve Weatherford's common sense. Weatherford handed the Packers three points, taking off running on a fake punt on Fourth and 18. Fourth and 18! Turns out, Weatherford didn't realize he had that far to go.

  • It was a good weekend for the New York Giants, who didn't even play. The two NFC East teams who did play, Washington and Dallas, both lost. Coach Mike Shanahan created a mess in Washington, benching Donovan McNabb. The 1-6 Cowboys simply are a mess.
