Morning Coffee! Yankees Defeat Twins, Of Course

Good morning, New York sports fans! Here is your morning recap of the local sports scene.

  • The New York Yankees overcame a 3-0 deficit to win Game of their ALDS against the Minnesota Twins last night. Was there ever really any doubt? The Yankees and Twins are meeting in the ALDS for the fourth time since 2003, and in that time Minnesota has never won a game at home, Game 2 is tonight at 6:07 p.m. ET. See Pinstripe Alley for full coverage.

  • The New York Jets might not be thrilled about facing the Brett Favre-Randy Moss combo Monday night. Moss's trade from New England to Minnesota, though, clears the path to the AFC East title for the Jets. Unless the Patriots can pull off a trade for San Diego wide receiver Vincent Jackson, no team in that division will challenge the Jets. See Gang Green Nation for more.

  • The NHL seasons begins tonight. None of the local squads will be in action.
