NFL Mock Draft 2013: Jets select Tavon Austin, Barkevious Mingo

New York has a bevy of holes, but can fill one with the acquisition of Tavon Austin.

In SB Nation's latest NFL mock draft, Dan Kadar has the New York Jets selecting West Virginia Mountaineers wide receiver Tavon Austin with the No. 9 overall pick and LSU Tigers outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo with the No. 13 selection.

Austin is a speedster who can stretch the field both horizontally and vertically. New York needs a playmaker on offense to pair with the mercurial Santonio Holmes in the worst way, and Austin would be a perfect fit.

Last season, Austin caught 114 balls for 1,289 yards and 12 touchdowns to lead the Mountaineers to the Pinstripe Bowl against the Syracuse Orange.

Mingo would be a great pick with the Jets second first-round selection. New York needs a lot of help getting to the quarterback after having Quinton Coples led the team last season with 5.5 sacks. In his junior season of 2012, Mingo had 4.5 sacks for the Tigers in the SEC, flashing potential that has NFL teams excited.

The Jets have plenty of options with these two picks, including taking a corner or tight end. Many options could be available to them including Xavier Rhodes of the Florida State Seminoles and Tyler Eifert of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
