Coming off a come-from-behind victory over the Miami Dolphins, the New York Jets will be entering Week 4 tied for the top spot in the AFC East with a 2-1 record. With both victories coming against division opponents (including a dominant performance against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1), the Jets seemingly should have plenty of momentum when the team hosts the reigning NFC West champion San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
However, the Jets are facing serious questions following the season-ending injury sustained by franchise cornerstone Darrelle Revis. During the game against the Dolphins, Revis tore his ACL on a play in the third quarter in which he went untouched. Head coach Rex Ryan stated that the injury was the worst thing that could have happened to the team and stated that no one player could fill the All-Pro corner's role.
According to the predictions this week, the pundits also agree with Ryan, as the Jets are the overwhelming underdog. Every one at ESPN (to this point) has picked the 49ers to win and all but one staff member at CBS Sports agrees.
