Mark Sanchez will be without one of his favorite targets again on Sunday, as the team announced on Saturday that tight end Dustin Keller has been ruled out for New York's contest with host Jacksonville this weekend.
Keller severely sprained his ankle in last week's 7-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals, and he was unable to practice this week, only appearing briefly off to the side of the practice field to do light exercises during the week.
Keller has just 28 receptions this season, for 317 yards and two touchdowns. The former Purdue star was the team's leading receiver last season, grabbing 65 passes for 815 yards and five touchdowns.
In his place, Jeff Cumberland and Konrad Reuland will step in at the tight end position, with the team also likely activating rookie Hayden Smith for Sunday's contest.
Kickoff between the Jets and Jaguars is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday from EverBank Stadium.
