NFL picks Week 14: Tim Tebow makes quarterback debut in loss to Jaguars

SB Nation New York's Jared Smith makes his Week 14 NFL picks and predictions.

Rich Schultz

For the second straight week last week I ended with a .500 record (8-8). Not good, not bad just enough to keep the wife from killing me.

However, every week I am looking at my previous picks and cringing - a point here and there and I am in business. Below is my Week 14 NFL picks. Enjoy!

(All point spreads provided by Oddshark.com and Bovada.)

Denver Broncos (9-3) at Oakland Raiders (3-9), 8:20 p.m. on NFL Network

Point spread: Broncos 10 1/2-point favorite.
Pick: Broncos 30, Raiders 10
Prediction: Peyton Manning against this Raiders team will be fun to watch. It will be like 2009 all over again!

St. Louis Rams (5-6-1) at Buffalo Bills (5-7), 1 p.m. on FOX

Point spread: Bills 3-point favorite.
Pick: Bills 21, Rams 20
Prediction: Buffalo will more than likely gag this one away, but I am holding out hope the Rams' emotional victory over the 49ers and a trip to the East Coast will be the difference.

Dallas Cowboys (6-6) at Cincinnati Bengals (7-5), 1 p.m. on FOX

Point spread: Bengals 3-point favorite.
Pick: Bengals 24, Cowboys 17
Prediction: Some how last week, Dallas let a team without its starting quarterback, running back, wide receiver and a brand-new offensive line lose by less than a touchdown. Can't see them winning this one on the road.

Kansas City Chiefs (2-10) at Cleveland Browns (4-8), 1 p.m. on CBS

Point spread: Browns 6 1/2-point favorite.
Pick: Browns 24, Chiefs 17
Prediction: Kansas City's feel good win of the year was good for just one. Cleveland covers the spread at home.

Tennessee Titans (4-8) at Indianapolis Colts (8-4), 1 p.m. on CBS

Point spread: Colts 6-point favorite.
Pick: Colts 28, Titans 20
Prediction: Indianapolis moves one win closer to making the AFC playoffs. Who would have thought that?

Chicago Bears (8-4) at Minnesota Vikings (6-6), 1 p.m. on FOX

Point spread: Bears 3-point favorite.
Pick: Bears 31, Vikings 13
Prediction: Chicago earns a bounce-back victory against a struggling Vikings team.

San Diego Chargers (4-8) at Pittsburgh Steelers (7-5), 1 p.m. on CBS

Point spread: Steelers 7-point favorite.
Pick: Chargers 20, Steelers 17
Prediction: The upset pick of the week.

Philadelphia Eagles (3-9) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-6), 1 p.m. on FOX

Point spread: Buccaneers 7 1/2-point favorite.
Pick: Buccaneers 24, Eagles 10
Prediction: The Eagles were listed as the worst team in the NFL by SB Nation's Power Rankings. THE WORST TEAM! Crazy. Tampa moves closer to a playoff berth with a home win.

Baltimore Ravens (9-3) at Washington Redskins (6-6), 1 p.m. on CBS

Point spread: Redskins 3-point favorite.
Pick: Ravens 17, Redskins 13
Prediction: Baltimore is physical and will go after RGIII hard. For that reason, I like the Ravens to win outright on the road.

Atlanta Falcons (11-1) at Carolina Panthers (3-9), 1 p.m. on FOX

Point spread: Falcons 3 1/2-point favorite.
Pick: Falcons 31, Panthers 17
Prediction: Atlanta keeps winning and keeps getting crushed. I don't know why this keeps happening.

New York Jets (5-7) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-10), 1 p.m. on CBS

Point spread: Jets 3-point favorite.
Pick: Jaguars 17, Jets 10
Prediction: If healthy, Tim Tebow will see action this Sunday and Mark Sanchez will need to search for a new place to throw footballs.

Miami Dolphins (5-7) at San Francisco 49ers (8-3-1), 4:05 p.m. on CBS

Point spread: 49ers 10-point favorite.
Pick: 49ers 24, Dolphins 17
Prediction: Miami should stick around in this one, but it will not win outright.

New Orleans Saints (5-7) at New York Giants (7-5), 4:25 p.m. on FOX

Point spread: Giants 5-point favorite.
Pick: Giants 37, Saints 34
Prediction: This will be a barn-burner, but a defensive play will be the key to a victory.

Arizona Cardinals (4-8) at Seattle Seahawks (7-5), 4:25 p.m. on FOX

Point spread: Seahawks 10-point favorite.
Pick: Seahawks 24, Cardinals 3
Prediction: I feel so bad for Larry Fitzgerald.

Detroit Lions (4-8) at Green Bay Packers (8-4), 8:20 p.m. on NBC

Point spread: Packers 7-point favorite.
Pick: Packers 30, Lions 20
Prediction: A victory helps Green Bay move into the talks of legit Super Bowl contenders.

Houston Texans (11-1) at New England Patriots (9-3), 8:30 p.m. on ESPN

Point spread: Patriots 4-point favorite.
Pick: Texans 28, Patriots 27
Prediction: The team with the better defense usually win these kind of match-ups.

Last week's record: 8-8-0. Season record: 82-88-5.
