2013 NFL Mock Draft: Jets, Giants could add defensive talent

CBS Sports' latest NFL mock drafts have been released, and the Jets are projected to add outside linebacker help, while the Giants could take either a tight end or defensive end.

New York Jets fans can officially start looking forward to next April's NFL Draft, after the Jets were officially eliminated from playoff contention last week.

The latest NFL mock drafts by CBS Sports' analysts have the Jets bolstering their defense in the first round. Rob Rang has the Jets selecting LSU Tigers outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo, while Dane Brugler has the Jets selecting Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Jarvis Jones.

Both young linebackers would infuse so much needed youth into a linebacking corps that is aging. Current Jets outside linebackers Bart Scott and Calvin Pace will turn 33 in 2013, so it seems likely that the Jets will look to add youth at that position.

The New York Giants can still make the playoffs, but need lots of help. Rang has the Giants selecting Notre Dame tight end Tyler Eifert in the first round, while Brugler has Big Blue adding another defensive lineman into the fray -- LSU's Sam Montgomery.
