The bye week hurt the Jets in the latest SB Nation NFL Power Rankings, which has New York ranked 26th.

The newest SB Nation NFL Power Rankings are out, and the New York Jets surprisingly dropped a spot despite not playing in Week 9. The Jets (3-5) are ranked 26th by NFL Editor Joel Thorman, who last week had New York No. 25 overall.

The Jets remain the lowest-ranked team in the AFC East, as the New England Patriots (No. 9), Miami Dolphins (No. 14) and Buffalo Bills (No. 25) are slotted ahead of Gang Green.

Thorman had this to say about the Jets, losers of four of their last five games:

26. New York Jets (LW: 25, 3-5): "We're not even close," Rex Ryan said. "We're not sniffing the playoffs." Not much else to say here -- he's right.

Overall, the power rankings feature the unbeaten Atlanta Falcons at the top, while the Houston Texans, Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers round out the top 5.

Compared to other national power rankings, SB Nation's is similar to ESPN.com's which has the Jets ranked 25th -- the same spot as last week. Meanwhile, CBS Sports has New York at No. 27 while Fox Spots Brian Billick's slotted the Jets 23rd.
