The New York Jets unsurprisingly had no players listed amongst the tops at their position when the NFL released early fan voting numbers on Wednesday.
Last season, the Jets had four players named to the Pro Bowl: cornerback Darrelle Revis, center Nick Mangold, offensive guard Brandon Moore, and offensive tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Revis has been out for the year since tearing his ACL Week 3, so he's not in the running. As for the linemen, it's still possible that they could be doing well in the voting -- several players from each position will make the team, but the NFL's release only listed the top vote-getter at each position -- but they probably don't deserve to. The Jets have allowed 26 sacks, the 23rd-best number in the league, and are only allowing their running backs to earn 3.8 yards per carry, the fourth-worst in the league.
Fan voting will end on Dec. 17, at which point the coaches and players will also vote, with each vote making one-third of the determining factor in who plays in the league's annual all-star game. The 2013 Pro Bowl will be played in Honolulu Jan. 27, a week before the Super Bowl.
