New York Jets' quarterback Tim Tebow is no stranger to media speculation, and leaked comments about his performance have him at the center of attention once again. Former NFL running back and current analyst LaDainian Tomlinson opined on Sirius XM Radio Tuesday that the players behind the anonymous negative words directed at Tebow from earlier these week were Bart Scott and Antonio Cromartie.
Cromartie has not commented on Tomlinson's finger-pointing, but Scott is livid at the accusation. Scott discussed the situation at a charity event on Tuesday, according to the New York Post:
"That can’t be farther from the truth. One thing about me is I ain’t ever hid behind [junk] that I’ve ever said. I’m not afraid to put my name to it, go to a person and say it to them."
Tebow came over to the Jets in the offseason, and has been used at quarterback in specially-designed sets. He often comes in for one or two plays at a time, subbing for starting quarterback Mark Sanchez. The performance of both quarterbacks has left something to be desired in this arrangement, but Tebow's status as a superstar backup may have his teammates annoyed.
