The New York Jets opened as relatively slim underdogs against the undefeated Houston Texans, but the line has ballooned as Houston is now favored by more than a touchdown in the Monday Night Football matchup.
The Texans are 4-0, and have held opponents to a league-best 14.0 points per game, while Arian Foster and the combination of Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson has the offense ranked second in the league in scoring. They've won three of their four games by 20 points or more.
Meanwhile, the Jets are 2-2 with a pair of blowout losses and now know that they'll be without their best wide receiver in Santonio Holmes, who has been placed on the IR. The Jets already faced questions about their passing attack with Mark Sanchez sputtering along with a league-low 49.2 completion percentage before Holmes' injury, and now he's without his best target.
New York opened as 4.5-point underdogs in the game, but now books have the line at somewhere between 7.5 and 9 points. Houston has cleared the spread in each of its matchups. The over/under is 41 points, a relatively low number, although the Jets were shut out in their last game, when they faced off against a defense that wasn't even the league's best.
