Bart Scott injury: Jets linebacker out with toe injury vs. Dolphins

Bart Scott won't be playing for the New York Jets on Sunday, snapping his 119-game streak.

Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE

When the New York Jets take the field on Sunday afternoon against the Miami Dolphins at MetLife Stadium, they'll be doing so without Bart Scott.

The veteran linebacker is going to be inactive for the contest with a toe injury, according to Manish Mehta. By finally missing a game, it will break Scott's streak of 119 consecutive games played.

Over the past several seasons, Scott has been an important piece to the New York defense. However, the ex-Baltimore Raven standout is starting to become more of a situational player as his skills begin to slowly decline.

Since his rookie year of 2002 in Baltimore, Scott has only missed three contests in his career, all of which were in 2004.

Scott's best season by far was in 2006 when he racked up career-highs in tackles (104) and sacks (9.5).

This year, Scott has amassed 31 tackles and is still searching for his first sack.
