Jets' injury report: Five Jets miss Thursday's practice

Five members of the New York Jets missed practice on Thursday because of various injuries.

Three defensive players and two running backs did not participate in Thursday's practice for the New York Jets, as Gang Green gets ready to take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 8.

Defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis did not participate because of a knee injury, while safety LaRon Landry missed because because of a heel injury. Linebacker Bart Scott also did not participate in Thursday's practice, because of a toe injury.

Offensively, the Jets were without a pair of running backs during Thursday's practice. Joe McKnight missed practice because of an ankle injury, while Bilal Powell sat out with his dislocated shoulder. With a bye week in Week 9, it seems unlikely that Powell will play against Miami in Week 8.

If McKnight is unable to play, Jonathan Grimes will likely serve as Shonn Greene's backup.

Tight end Jeff Cumberland and center Nick Mangold were both limited in practice. Cumberland is nursing a wrist injury, while Mangold is dealing with an ankle injury.
