New York Jets' roster moves: Fullback Lex Hilliard signed, Patrick Turner waived

Bruce Kluckhohn-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The New York Jets on Tuesday signed fullback Lex Hilliard and waived wide receiver Patrick Turner from the active roster. The team has also signed wide receiver Jordan White to the practice squad and released DB Donnie Fletcher from the practice squad.

Hilliard, 5-foot-11, 235 pounds, has played 48 NFL games with four starts and has rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on 39 carries and caught 26 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns. He spent three seasons with the Miami Dolphins. He was picked up and waived by both the Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots this season.

In two seasons with New York, Turner played in 20 games primarily on special teams and recorded nine tackles. He also made 10 receptions for 122 yards and one touchdown.

With wide receiver Santonio Holmes possibly out for the season the Jets could be in the market for a wide receiver in the coming days.
