The New York Jets injury report is out, and seven players will not practice on Wednesday as the team prepares for a huge Week 7 game against the New England Patriots. Running backs Joe McKnight and Bilal Powell are both being held out of practice, and according to Mike Vorkunov of The Star-Ledger, head coach Rex Ryan did not not address their long-term availability. Both had MRIs earlier in the week. Here's the complete list of Jets not participating in practice on Wednesday:
DT Kenrick Ellis (knee)
WR Clyde Gates (shoulder)
C Nick Mangold (ankle)
RB Joe McKnight (ankle)
DT Sione Po'uha (back)
RB Bilal Powell (shoulder)
S Eric Smith (knee)
Hamstring injuries are particularly prevalent this week as the Jets get ready for the AFC East matchup. Dustin Keller, Bryan Thomas, and Stephen Hill were all limited on Wednesday with hamstring issues. Bart Scott was also limited in practice with a toe injury.
The Jets enter Week 7 with a four-way tie in the AFC East, making Sunday's late afternoon game with the rival Patriots even more important as the season nears the halfway point.
