49ers vs. Jets 2012: New York gets dismantled in every possible way

The New York Jets were hammered at home 34-0 by the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, creating serious doubts in the process.

The New York Jets were absolutely taken apart on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium, losing 34-0 to an inspired San Francisco 49ers team.

New York seems hopeless from the outset, falling behind early on and never picking up much steam offensively. Mark Sanchez had another rough game while his top weapon in Santonio Holmes had to leave with a foot injury.

Many are now pointing to the job general manager Mike Tannenbaum has done (or more accurately, hasn't done) with this roster, leaving the Jets vulnerable to injuries, as Scott Salmon writes over at Gang Green Nation:

Before the season started, I was a staunch Mike Tannenbaum supporter. But I'm willing to admit that I was wrong, and I think Tannenbaum's time with us is coming to an end. Our team has no depth and roster-wise has been getting worse each and every year. It's probably time to start looking for a new general manager at the end of the season.

If New York continues to struggle, Tannenbaum could very well be on the hot seat when owner Woody Johnson assesses what went wrong in 2012.
