The New York Islanders open March with a visit to meet the Boston Bruins on Saturday afternoon. (1 p.m., MSG Plus)
New York is concluding a four-game road trip that has so far been winless. The Islanders did manage a point with an overtime loss in Washington on Tuesday, but followed that by dropping a 6-3 decision Thursday in Philadelphia. The latest loss pushed the Islanders to 1-4-1 in their past six games, nine points out of the playoff picture with 18 games to play.
Boston is currently second in the Eastern Conference with 79 points, but the Bruins are just 10-10-2 since Jan. 14 and have been shut out four times in their last 10 outings.
