The New Jersey Devils will face off against the New York Islanders on Saturday for the second consecutive game, which represents the two teams' third match-up this week.
The first match-up – played Sunday – saw the Devils get blanked by the Islanders by a score of 1-0. On Thursday the Devils exacted revenge, smashing the Islanders 5-1. On Saturday the teams will play the rubber match of the week, and only play once more during the regular season.
New Jersey is currently owns the six seed in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, while the Islanders are all but eliminated from contention, trailing the eight seed by nine points. With only 15 games remaining, it's highly unlikely the Islanders make the Playoffs.
Since being blanked by the Islanders on Sunday, the Devils have won two games in a row by a combined score of 9-2.
The game is scheduled for 7 PM EST.
