Islanders Vs. Jets Preview: New York Tries To Continue Road Success

The New York Islanders will be looking to keep their strong play on the road going Tuesday, as they visit the Winnipeg Jets in an Eastern Conference showdown at MTS Centre. The Islanders (23-24-8, 54 points) have won five of their last six games on the road, while the Jets (26-25-6, 58 points) are 4-5 in the past nine games.

New York is trying to rebound from a 4-1 loss to the visiting Florida Panthers on Sunday, and the road seems like the best place to do it, as the Islanders have outscored opponents 14-7 during their recent six-game span.

The Islanders are currently eight points back of the Eastern Conference's last playoff spot, held by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Meanwhile, the Jets are just four points back of the Leafs.

On Saturday, Winnipeg lost 8-5 at the Pittsburgh Penguins completing a nine-game span that featured eight road games.
