Islanders Schedule (Dec. 26-Jan. 1): New York Travels To Rangers; Hosts Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers

The last-place New York Islanders try to end the 2011 year on a good note, as they travel to MSG Monday, but end the week by hosting the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers.

Looking to try and get themselves out of the bottom of the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division standings, the New York Islanders travel to Madison Square Garden before hosting two winnable-road games this week (Dec. 26-Jan. 1). The Isles (11-16-6, 28 points), who are 11 points behind fourth-fourth place New Jersey Devils, play at the New York Rangers, Monday, Dec. 26 (7 p.m.) before hosting the Western Conference's Calgary Flames, Thurs., Dec. 29 (7 p.m.) and the Edmonton Oilers, Sat., Dec. 31 (1 p.m.). All games will be broadcast locally on MSG+.

The Rangers (21-8-4, 46 points) are currently atop of the Atlantic Division standings and have won eight of their last 10 games (for a full preview of the contest click this link.)

On Thursday, the Flames (17-15-4, 38 points) sit in third-place in the Northwest Division, which features Friday's opponent, the Oilers (15-16-3, 33 points) in last place. This season, the Islanders have compiled just a 6-9-3 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY.
