The New York Islanders will look to snap a three-game losing skid on Thursday night when they host the Dallas Stars (7 p.m., MSG Plus).
The Islanders erased a two-goal deficit on Tuesday night against the Montreal Canadiens, but surrendered two goals in the last seven minutes of the third period to fall, 5-3. Despite the loss, coach Jack Capuano was proud of his team's willingness to compete.
"We were down by two goals and we kept coming," he said. "We didn't quit. Those guys aren't going to quit. That's part of the effort tonight. There's no excuse for losing and sometimes you get sick and tired of hearing it, but this was a game I thought we should have come out with a point."
The Stars have won two straight and lead the Pacific Division with 35 points.
