The New York Islanders snapped a six-game losing streak Saturday against Washington. Next, the Islanders schedule resumes with three away games this week, beginning Monday night against the defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins.
The Bruins enter Monday's meeting (7 p.m., VERSUS HD, RIS HD, NHLN-CA, TSN2) on the heels of a thorough 7-0 victory Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Tyler Seguin scored his first career hat trick, Tim Thomas notched 24 saves for his first shutout of the season and Milan Lucic added two goals and an assist. The Bruins (5-7-0) have now won two straight after a troubling three-game skid left them at the bottom of the Northeast Division.
After playing the Bruins, the Islanders will head west to visit the Colorado Avalanche (Thursday at 9 p.m., MSG Plus) and Vancouver Canucks (Sunday at 9 p.m., MSG Plus). The Avalanche lost to Calgary Saturday to fall to 7-6-1. The Canucks defeated Chicago Saturday, 6-2, to push their record to 7-7-1.
