Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Dustin Byfuglien scored 90 seconds into overtime to give Atlanta a 2-1 win and hand the Islanders a franchise record 13th straight loss.
In the extra session, Byfuglien received a pass from Tobias Enstrom in the high slot, glided to the mid-slot and snapped a wrister past Rick DiPietro for the win.
New York came into the game with its third 12-game losing streak in franchise history, but has now set a club record as the team has not won since a 3-2 overtime triumph over Tampa Bay on October 21.
Nik Antropov scored the other goal while Ondrej Pavelec stopped 28 shots for the Thrashers, who have won their past two games.
Michael Grabner scored the lone goal and DiPietro made 33 saves for the Islanders, who lost after regulation for just the second time during the losing streak.
