New, 1 comment

Former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan will reportedly be named the new co-host of the TV show Live! Strahan will take over permanent co-hosting duties once held by Regis Philbin, who left the show in 2011. Strahan and Kelly Ripa will host the ABC morning show.

Despite taking over as a permanent co-host, Strahan is expected to continue to remain in his role as an analyst on the NFL pregame show, FOX NFL Sunday, despite the two shows being shot on opposite coasts. Strahan was also the star of a 2009 FOX sitcom called Brothers.

Strahan retired from the NFL after the 2007 season. Strahan played 15 seasons for the Giants and recorded 141.5 sacks during his career, including an NFL-record 22.5 sacks during the 2001 season. Strahan ranks fifth in NFL history in sacks.
