Hakeem Nicks Injury Update: Victor Cruz 'Definitely Expects' Nicks To Be Ready For Season Opener

With recent comments by Hakeem Nicks a little unclear on where he might be in recovering from his broken foot, teammate Victor Cruz spoke to ESPN and reinforced that Nicks will be ready for the season opener at home against the Cowboys on Sept. 5. Said Cruz:

"He looks good. He's walking again on his own so that's definitely a good sign. He told me he'll be ready and he told me he'll take training camp to continue rehabbing and continue to get his foot back right, but I definitely expect him to be ready by game one."

Nicks broke his foot at an organized team activity in late May. Many reports claimed he would be ready by training camp, but Cruz clarifies that that readiness may be more for rehab activities than practice with the team.
