Tom Coughlin Contract Extension Worth $20 Million Over Three Years, According To Report

Tom Coughlin's contract extension which was announced Wednesday by the New York Giants is worth $20 million over the next three years, according to the New York Daily News.

Coughlin's deal was scheduled to expire at the end of the 2012 season, but he and the Giants came to an agreement which will keep him on the sideline in the Big Apple through the 2014 season.

The new contract represents a pay raise for Coughlin, who has won two Super Bowls after leading the Giants to Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots this past season. His previous contract paid him $5.25 million, but the new one, according to some people familiar with Coughlin's extension who spoke to the Daily News, might make him the NFL's third-highest paid coach.
