Hakeem Nicks Injury Update: Giants Receiver Has Successful Surgery

It's been an interesting week for New York Giants wide receiver, Hakeem Nicks. He broke a bone is his foot on Thursday and was expected to miss 12 weeks. Then, it was reported that his injury wasn't as severe as first thought and recovery time would only be 4-6 weeks.

On Friday, Nicks underwent successful surgery, according to the New York Post.

Hakeem Nicks yesterday underwent successful surgery on his right foot, as a screw was inserted to hasten the healing process in the fifth metatarsal bone he fractured while running a route on Thursday during an OTA drill.

Nicks has put up back-to-back 70-plus-catch, 1,000-plus-yard seasons for the Giants, and he was a big reason why the team went on their recent Super Bowl run.
