2012 NFL Mock Draft: New York Giants And Jonathan Martin Paired

In the latest SB Nation NFL mock draft by Ryan Van Bibber, the New York Giants have been given offensive tackle Jonathan Martin with their first round pick.

This would be amazing value if it were to happen. As Van Bibber correctly points out, Martin didn't have a great pro day at Stanford which may cause him to slide a bit on draft day. However, he's still considered by many the second or third-best tackle behind Matt Kalil and possibly Riley Reiff of Iowa.

The Giants would be able to fill an immediate need with Kareem McKenzie a free agent and not expected to return. Martin could step in right away as the starting right tackle and solidify an offensive line that is in transition.

New York would have to keep its fingers crossed that he slides by the New York Jets, who also have a gaping hole on the right side of their line with Wayne Hunter as the projected starter.

If he gets by Gang Green, the Giants would have legitimate hope of landing Martin with the final pick of the first night.
