No surprise for the New York Giants in the latest version of the SB Nation 2012 NFL Mock Draft, which was released Monday morning. SB Nation has selected Stanford tight end Coby Fleener for the Giants.
Fleener has been a popular mock draft selection for the Giants, who lost both starter Jake Ballard and reserve Travis Beckum to torn ACLs during the Super Bowl. Both Todd McShay and Mel Kiper of ESPN selected Fleener for the Giants in their most recent mock drafts.

SB Nation writes:
“The only thing the Giants really lack on offense is a tight end capable of doing some damage in the middle of the field. Fleener gives Eli Manning a target on seam routes and someone to create mismatches in the middle of the field.”
The Giants need for a tight end could change once the NFL Free Agency period begins on Tuesday. Right now, however, that is a glaring hole for the defending Super Bowl champions.
