2012 NFL Mock Draft, New York Giants Prospect Profiles: Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson

In the latest SB Nation 2012 NFL mock draft, SB Nation selected Dwayne Allen, tight end, Clemson, for the New York Giants with the 32nd and final pick of the first round.

Allen is a beast at 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds. The Giants have a need at tight end as both starter Jake Ballard and H Back Travis Beckum suffered torn ACLs in the Super Bowl victory over New England. Neither is expected to be available for the beginning of the 2012 season, leaving the Giants with only Bear Pascoe at tight end.

While the Giants would love to fill holes on the defensive side of the ball, Allen might be too much value to pass up at the end of the first round. Last year, Allen caught 50 passes for 598 yards and eight touchdowns for Clemson on the way to its Orange Bowl bid.

If Mario Manningham leaves in free agency, this pick would make even more sense with the passing game being so important to Big Blue. If Allen is available when New York is on the clock, he could very well be headed to the city that never sleeps.
