Giants Vs. Falcons Score: New York, Atlanta Scoreless After First Quarter

To those fans who watched Saturday's 2012 NFL playoff games, the first quarter between the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons was a snore, as no points were scored and a total of five punts were kicked. However, the Falcons (10-6) will begin the second quarter inside Giants' territory (21-yard line) facing a 4th-and-1 situation.

The winner of the game advances to play the NFC's No. 1-overall seed the Green Bay Packers next weekend in the Divisional round of the playoffs. The other NFC Divisional round game will feature the New Orleans Saints visiting the San Francisco 49ers.

So far, the Giants (9-7) have managed just one first down and have ran a total of 10 plays on three possessions. Their best play came from a punt from Steve Weatherford, who pinned Atlanta at its own nine-yard line midway through the quarter.

However, the Falcons are currently in the middle of a long drive that has spanned over 12 plays and almost seven minutes.

For the record, the Giants defense forced the Falcons to two three-and-outs on their first two drives of the game.
