New York Giants wide receivers Mario Manningham and Domenik Hixon were injured in Monday's 28-16 victory over the St. Louis Rams, joining the Giants long list of injuries. Couple of things are not certain, though. Just exactly what are the injuries suffered by both players, and how badly are they hurt?
The Giants said after the game that Manningham has a concussion. The receiver said he has a neck injury, not a concussion. The Giants said Hixon re-injured his surgically repaired knee making a circus catch for a touchdown at the end of the first half. Hixon has apparently said he injured his calf, not his knee.
Regardless, the Giants can't afford to see any of their veteran receivers miss time. Their passing attack is not functioning well as it is, and without Manningham or Hixon the Giants offense would be even further handicapped Sunday in a key game against the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles.
