Day Three of the 2011 NFL Draft begins at noon (ESPN/NFL Network). Draft hopefuls from regional Big East Conference schools Syracuse and Rutgers are still waiting to hear their names called.
From Syracuse, running back DeLone Carter, linebacker Doug Hogue and center Ryan Bartholomew are the most likely players to be selected during rounds 4-7. For Rutgers, safety Joe Lefeged seems likely to be the only player drafted.
On Friday, the New York Giants continued their value over need philosophy by selecting North Carolina defensive tackle Marvin Austin in the second round and Troy wide receiver/kick returner Jerell Jernigan in the third round. The Giants have six selections today, including three in the sixth round.
The New York Jets added to their defensive line by selecting mammoth nose tackle Kenrick Ellis of Hampton College in the third round. The Jets did not have a second-round selection. The Jets have four picks today, one in each round.
