NFL Draft 2011, Day 2: Syracuse, Rutgers Hopefuls Likely To Wait Another Day

The 2011 NFL Draft enters its second day Friday (6 p.m. ET, ESPN/NFL Network) with rounds 2 and 3 to be held. If the majority of draft analysts are correct, draft hopefuls from Syracuse University and Rutgers University will likely have to wait until Day 3 of the draft on Saturday to hear their names called.

Of course, as was re-affirmed during a wild and unpredictable first round on Thursday night anything can happen during the NFL Draft.

A look at an updated seven-round mock draft from DraftTek shows Syracuse running DeLone Carter and linebacker Doug Hogue being drafted in the sixth round, and center Ryan Bartholomew going in the seventh round. Rutgers safety Joe Lefeged is projected to be taken in the sixth round.

Draft Countdown projects Carter, Hogue and Lefeged as likely mid-round selections. It lists Bartholomew as a potential late round selection or an undrafted free agent.

Syracuse and Rutgers fans can only wait and wonder, though.
