2011 NFL Draft: Miami Dolphins Snatch Mike Pouncey Away From Giants

The Miami Dolphins have now made the first selection in the 2011 NFL Draft that may directly impact the New York Giants. The Dolphins, selecting 15th, chose Florida guard/center Mike Pouncey, thought by many to be the most likely selection for the Giants if he was still on the board at No. 19.

Other recent picks:

No, 13, Detroit — Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn. Fairley will team with last year’s top pick by the Lions, Ndamukong Suh, to give Detroit a formidable pair of defensive tackles.
No. 14, St. Louis — Robert Quinn, DE, North Carolina.

So, what will the Giants do with Pouncey gone to Miami? Offensive tackles Anthony Castonzo (Boston College), Gabe Carimi (Wisconsin) and Nate Solder (Colorado are still on the board. Alabama running back Mark Ingram remains a possibility. On defense, linebacker Akeem Ayers (UCLA), and defensive tackles Corey Liuget (Illinois) and Muhammad Wilkerson (Temple) could be possibilities.
