New York Giants fans probably will not appreciate the latest rumors flying around NFL coaching circles.

St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo is expected to be fired after the season, and the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that it is "all but certain" Spagnuolo will take over as Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator.

Spagnuolo was an Eagles assistant coach from 1999-2006, but solidified his reputation as one of the NFL's sharpest defensive minds after taking over as Giants defensive coordinator in 2007. Spagnuolo helped the Giants to a Super Bowl in his very first year on the job, designing the defense that halted the previously undefeated New England Patriots.

In three seasons with the Rams, Spagnuolo's teams have sputtered to just 10 wins. He almost certainly would not be in the running for any other head coaching jobs, but he is a proven defensive coordinator with a track record of success.
