Joe McKnight Injury Update: New York Jets Kick Returner's Status Uncertain For Saturday

New York Jets kick returner and backup running back, Joe McKnight, might find himself back on the inactive list Saturday when Gang Green faces the New York Giants (1 p.m. on FOX). The shifty tailback, who was inactive against the Kansas City Chiefs, Dec. 11, and saw limited playing time during Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles because of a hyperextedned elbow, is reportedly suffering from a separated shoulder.

On Monday, Jets head coach Rex Ryan said, "we'll see," when asked about the playing status of McKnight for Saturday's upcoming game against the New York Giants.

If McKnight can't go on Saturday, then defensive back Antonio Cromartie will more than likely take over the kick return duties, while wide receiver Jeremy Kerley will handle the punt return duties.

Last week, Cromartie handled five kick returns and averaged 29.2 yards, while Kerley returned two punts for an average of 8.0 yards.
