Osi Umenyiora Injury Update: Reports Say Defensive End Likely Out Vs. Jets

New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora appears likely to miss his fourth straight game this weekend, if early reports on the health of his injured ankle are correct.

Umenyiora injured the ankle during the Monday night loss to New Orleans and has not played since. He also missed the Giants first three games this season after undergoing knee surgery during training camp.

Umenyiora was effective for the Giants when he did play, recording seven sacks and two forced fumbles in eight games.

You have to wonder if Giants safety Antrel Rolle might have been thinking about Umenyiora when he talked on Sunday about the Giants needing players with “nicks and bruises” on the field.

Full injury information on the Giants will be available once the transcript of coach Tom Coughlin’s press conference becomes available.
