Steve Smith Back To New York? ESPN's Schefter Says It Is Possible

It seems like all season New York Giants fans have been hoping that Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Steve Smith would, hopefully, return to the Big Apple after his one-year deal in the city of Brotherly Love expires. Well, according to ESPN's NFL Insider, Adam Schefter, Smith, the former Giant. would welcome a return to New York next year.

"Don’t be surprised if he also returns there next season," Schefter reported on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown on Sunday morning. "Sources close to Smith say he is open to returning to the Giants next season once his contract expires after this year."

"We know that Eli Manning has a very comfortable relationship with Steve Smith," Schefter continued. "Mario Manningham also is a free agent and there’s a chance that Steve Smith could wind up back in New York with the Giants."

On Sunday, Smith's old team and new team play each other in a critical NFC East showdown at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. This season, Smith has just 10 catches for 110 yards for the Eagles.
