This Sunday night the 6-3 NFC East-leading New York Giants will host their division rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, as they look to put arguably the final nail in the Eagles coffin. At 3-6 this is as must-win as it gets for the Eagles and they may be without starting quarterback Michael Vick, who's been nursing broken ribs.
The Giants are coming off a tough loss on the road to the 8-1 San Francisco 49ers, 27-20. However; they remain in the driver's seat for the NFC East, one game up on the Cowboys and three up on the Eagles – who they've already defeated once this season.
According to Odds Shark the Giants opened as 3.5-point favorites, but the line has since inflated to four or 4.5 in many places. According to Vegas Insider 90 percent of the wagers coming in on this game are on the Giants minus the points. If that trend continues expect the line to continue to inflate as kickoff approaches.
The Over/Under for the game is currently set at 47 and the moneylines for each team are around -220 for the Giants and +200 for the Eagles – meaning a 220-dollar bet on the Giants to win straight up would win 100 and a 100 bet on the Eagles to win outright would net 200 dollars. 83 percent of the moneyline wagers are coming in on the Giants and the public is betting the Over at a 81 percent rate.
If and when Michael Vick is ruled out for Sunday's contest, expect the line to change drastically, in favor of the Giants.
