New York Giants defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy has been suspended by the NFL, according to a published report. The reason for the suspension is not yet known. Kennedy's suspension is said to be for "less than a year."
Kennedy, 31, is a nine-year NFL veteran who was picked up by the Giants late in preseason to provide depth on the defensive line. Kennedy was kept by the Giants at the expense of another veteran tackle, Gabe Watson. Watson is reportedly still a free agent. Kennedy has seen limited playing time so far, being on the field for only 54 snaps in five games.
The Giants also have defensive tackle Dwayne Hendricks on their practice squad.
