Week 5 was not a good one for New York football as both the New York Giants and the New York Jets left the weekend with losses. The hard-fought loss to divisional rival New England was the Jets third straight of the season while the Giants dropped a game to the Seattle Seahawks, giving up 36 points in their effort. These results have cost both teams in the weekly NFL Power Rankings from SB Nation..
The Giants are currently sitting at No. 13, due mostly to the the inconsistency they've displayed this season. In some games every facet of the team is clicking, while other times they just can't put anything together. The loss to the Seahawks was even more devastating as it showed holes in both the offense and defense, despite the effort put forth by Victor Cruz.
The Jets are a completely different story. Last week SBNation had them ranked in the top 10 as one of the best teams in the league. Now after dropping three straight, it may be time to reevaluate the current situation in the locker room. The defense gave up two touchdowns to BenJarvus Green-Ellis. The secondary also allowed Tom Brady to throw for 321 yards. The Jets may need to take a step back during their bye week and make the changes to ensure this doesn't happen when they meet the Patriots again.
